Cable Skidder - a machine designed to drag trees to the road by attaching cables to the trees.

Chainsaw  - a hand-held machine designed to cut down, and take the branches off, trees.

Delimber - a machine designed to take the limbs off a tree

Feller Buncher  - a tree harvester that cuts down (fells) trees and puts them in piles (bunches) without removing the branches

Forwarder - a machine designed to pick up piles of wood that have had the limbs removed and carry it to the road

Grapple Skidder  - a machine designed to drag trees to the road by picking up one end of a pile of trees with a set of pincers (a grapple).

Loader  - a machine designed to pick up trees and either put them on or take them off trucks

Processor  - a tree harvester that cuts down trees, takes the limbs off, cuts them into log lengths, and leaves them in piles

Slasher - a large circular saw mounted on a trailer with a crane that cuts tree length stems into logs
